**Curb
Appeal: First Impressions, Lasting
Impressions**
We are working very hard to get the
community to look it's best. We are asking you the homeowner to
clean up the outside of your house.
Take pride in your home and
community, buying a home is a very BIG INVESTMENT, protect
your investment by making it look it's best at all times.
Every homeowner in our community is
losing property value due to the homeowners that refuse to clean up
and keep their yards mowed and trash free.
It is very frustrating to have to
send letters out every week to various home owners asking them to
mow the grass and clean up their yards. Things like : broke down cars, cars with flat tires / trucks that
hasn't moved in 1 1/2 years. These also all NO, NO's.
Heavy
trash pickup is the first Friday of every month.
We have hired a
trash crew to come into our community and clean up the yards of the homeowners
that continue to ignore the request from the Association to clean
their properties. The bill for doing the trash clean up
will be applied to the homeowners account.
We also have homes in our community
For Sale and homeowners are complaining because these properties are
empty. One of the biggest reason these homes are not selling is due
to the look and feel of our community. If you want to see the empty
homes sold then clean up your own yard and ask your
neighbors to do the same.
When selling a property one facet
of curb appeal you may not be able to control is the condition of
your neighbors' houses and yards. If they all look nice, then the
buyer will become as intrigued with the neighborhood as with your
house. If the other yards are filled with kids' toys, and the buyer
has children, that means potential playmates.
If the other yards are filled with
rubbish and junk cars, good luck to you. |
The
importance of a home's curb appeal
can't be understated. Your siding,
landscaping, and roofing gets more
credit than to your kitchen or
bathrooms. First impressions matter,
and here are some ideas to make
lasting impressions with your home.
Siding covers the most area of your
home and as a result, people will
notice it first. Even if you are not
considering selling your home, you
still want your house to look as
good as it can, and siding can make
the biggest impact to your curb
appeal.
Landscaping
Imagine your home without any
landscaping. Just a yard of dirt and
a house. Now consider all of the
trees, flowers, grasses, and other
landscaping materials that help to
give your home depth, texture, and
color. In many ways, landscaping can
make a home feel big and open or
secluded and cozy long before a
guest steps through the front door.
New Trees: We can never get
enough trees, or fresh air for that
matter. Trees provide vertical real
estate not often considered by many
homeowners. It is a little more work
during the fall, but if you shop
smartly and do proper research, you
can find the right trees for your
yard.
Sodding: If you have always
found it difficult to grow grass in
certain parts of your yard, have it
sodded by professional landscape
contractors. These pros know how to
lay and maintain strong grass in any
soil, during any time of the year.
You
could also use a product called
patch master which is a mixture of
grass seed and fertilizers for bald
spots in a yard. This product works
wonderfully. The only problem with
this product is that you must water
it every day for 10 days, but on day
14 you will start to see the grass
filling in the bald spots.
Shrubs: Shrubs and hedges are
great up next to the house because
they not only hide foundation lines
and air conditioning units, but they
also do it with style. Everyone
would rather have something green
and lush that also serves another
purpose for the home.
Curb appeal is not just for homes
going on the market. Your curb
appeal matters, not only as a part
of the whole picture of your
neighborhood, but also because your
house should be a place that you
want to come home to. Don’t you want
to have a home that everyone seems
to want?
The
appearance of your home / lot
affects the value of every home in
the community. Please help restore
property values in the community by
keeping your yards mowed and trash
free. |
